Hydraulic multiple soil penetrometer

ImageThe instrument is designed and constructed in our laboratory. It consists of five ASAE standard cones forced into the soil with two hydraulic cylinders. The instrument is attached on the three hitch point of tractors and powered through the hydraulic system. Data are streamed to A/D cards and stored to a portable PC with an appropriate software designed also in our lab.

Strip tillage

ImageA machinery designed and constructed on our lab, it combines two shallow tines followed by two deep subsoiler shafts and gangs of rotating shafts (from a modified rotary cultivator) that cultivate the soil in narrow strips of 25-30 cm and to a depth of 25-30 cm.

Experimental subsoiler for improving field work and reduce draft forces

ImageA gang of small tines are attached in front of the subsoiler shafts. The tines reduce critical depth and impove field performance.
